Engaging Green

The Green Line fashions are living, growing couture fashions which were on display at the Plains Art Museum.  Watered daily, this is one of the few installations with living plant materials, nationally, in a museum setting.

Applications include gathering spaces, mobile seating options, indoor park and mobile designs for improving cubicle and partition design, classrooms, offices, work experience, and education.

Every green wall is unique as the office itself.  Lighting, maintenance, air quality, cubic feet, and other elements are all considered for the best design solution.

In some offices, unique grey water sources can be utilizes- i.e. water from air conditioners and dehumidifiers are also explored.

Green applications for apartments include green walls, lawn floors, use of grey water, disposal of medicines, composting, recycling, improvement of air quality, water re-use, and sources of the contaminants.

Each apartment design is as unique as each apartment owner.  Creating designs which are self contained, as well as celebrate the aesthetics of each owner are important towards a successful design.

Green entrances to private residences as well as offices are an opportunity to improve the healthy of the people who use the space, as well as create a dramatic entry.

This proposal for a design competition is for cleaning water from the oil drilling process through a wetland design.  The green solution involves the visionaries including Ashley Kaisershot, Aryls Freeman, Autumn Boos, John Freeman and Bruce Kania.

Working with Bruce Kania at Floating Islands International, Engaging Green is helping address solutions for remediation of the storm water in the growing city of Abu Dhabi, Dubai.

 

On 10 March 2015,  I along with Ashley Kaisershot from Engaging Green were at the 2015 MECA conference.  It is an honor to be the keynote speaker, discussing “The 34 layers of designing with erosion control & storm water management”.  Exploring innovative design solutions to erosion control, including a two way dialogue with the attendees during the keynote.  With over 200 attendees, engaging dialogue, and a great crew of MECA who continue to amaze me with their passion in their field, I enjoyed every minute of it!
